Michael Griffin, is located in
Antioch, Illinois. He has been breeding and exhibiting American Singers
since 2003. He breeds Hartz canaries and German Rollers in addition to
American Singers. Mr. Griffin is the proud breeder and owner of “Bob”, a
hand-tamed American Singer canary which is featured in the American Singers
Club, Inc. 2006 calendar.
Ed Medrano- of Chicago, Illinois. Ed
has been breeding canaries for 15-20 years beginning with German Rollers. In
the past, he has bred Rollers, Timbrados, American Singers, and
Waterslagers. At the present time he is breeding American Singers and
Waterslagers. Ed currently serves as Chapter 6's President and has served as
the national American Singers Club Secretary & Treasurer and as the Second
Vice President. In 2005, Ed was awarded the Order of the Dragon by ASC
Chapter 22, DRAGON in recognition of his outstanding dedication to the
American Singer canary fancy.
Alberta Riedel- of Redford Township,
Michigan. She has bred canaries for 25 years, beginning with Red Factors.
Alberta became an American Singer Master Breeder in 1995, won the Cliff
Williams award in 1998, and has won the Kellogg award at the National Cage
Bird Show twice- in 1993 and in 1999. She has raised three grand champions.
Alberta has served as advisor for the national ASC.
Marie Russell is located near Flint,
Michigan. She currently serves Chapter 6 as newsletter and website editor.
She is also a member of ASC Chapter 22, DRAGON, for which she serves as
Librarian and website editor. She has two websites: one which is
American Singer canary-related and
another for her 2005 book, The
Practical Canary Handbook, Breeding and Keeping Canaries.
Roger Stroman- of
Vermillion, Ohio has been involved with psittacine birds from 1969 to 1986
and then canaries from 1999 to the present. His real passion is American
Singer canaries which he actively competes with each fall in about 6 or 7
shows in the Midwest. He also breeds red factor, recessive whites, and
Columbus Fancy on a smaller scale. In 2006, one of Roger's birds was
declared an ASC Grand Champion.
